Extraction Method/Origin: Steam distilled from leaves and flowers—Sumatra, Java, Malaysia, China, Brazil, Indonesia

Chemical Constituents: Sesquiterpenes (up to 63%): α-bulnesene (<20%), β-bulnesene (<16%), aromadendrene (<15%), α-gaiene (>12%), seychellene (6%), α-, β- & γ- patchoulenes (<12%), β-caryophyllene (<4%), δ-cadinene (<3%), β-gaiene, β-elemene, humulene; Sesquiterpene Alcohols (<38%): patchoulol (up to 35%), pogostol, bulnesol, guaiol, patchoulenol; Oxides (<5%): bulnesene oxide, caryophyllene oxide, guaiene oxide; Ketones: patchoulenone (<3%); Monoterpenes: α- & β-pinenes, l-limonene.

Properties: Anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiseptic, antitoxic, astringent, decongestant, deodorant, diuretic, insecticidal126, stimulant (digestive), and tonic.

Common Primary Uses: Allergies (skin), bug repellent, dermatitis/eczema, hemorrhoids, Ainsect repellent, jock itch, snake bites, wrinkles.

Historical Uses: For centuries, the Asian people used patchouli to fight infection, cool fevers, tone the skin (and entire body), and as an antidote for insect and snake bites. It was also used to treat colds, headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and halitosis (bad breath).

French Medicinal Uses: Allergies, dermatitis, eczema, hemorrhoids, tissue regeneration.

Other Possible Uses: This oil is a digester of toxic material in the body. It may also help acne, appetite (curbs), bites (insect and snake), cellulite, congestion, dandruff, depression, the digestive system, relieve itching from hives, skin conditions (chapped; tightens loose skin), UV radiation (protects against), water retention, weeping wounds, weight reduction, and prevent wrinkles.
